HAD ENOUGH OF RISING ENERGY COSTS?
TAKE ACTION FOR NEW SOUTH WALES TODAY
To Premier Berejiklian:
We are proud of our state. But the rising cost of living is hurting hardworking New South Wales families.
Electricity is a major cost and we have worked to be more energy efficient and use less. But our energy bills are reportedly set to increase by $400 next year alone. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/households-will-pay-up-to-400-more-for-power-because-of-the-rising-cost-of-wholesale-electricty/news-story/e48382071b273f212ab1b3584262517c
NSW is an energy powerhouse with our natural resources in the Hunter Valley. With our coal reserves, we should have some of the lowest energy costs in the world.
But our coal is exported overseas to provide cheap and reliable energy to families in other countries, while we are hit with rising prices.
Experts have repeatedly warned that your zero emissions target threatens to make New South Wales the new South Australia, with blackouts, job losses and businesses leaving.
Other states have seen the warning signs and are responding. Federal Labor has abandoned its formal 50% renewable energy target so we therefore call on you to end New South Wales' target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
New South Wales needs a sensible energy mix that keeps our lights on, our costs down and protects our environment. Without it, us hardworking NSW families will pay the price.
